Donna Kessler-Eng
Donna Kessler-Eng earned a PhD in English from the CUNY Graduate Center. Her dissertation, “Letting Nature Run Its Course: Thoreau’s Walden as Experimental Cure,” is a study of Walden and antebellum American medical and cultural discourse. Her publications, conference presentations, and research reflect her interests in the history of American medicine, literature and medicine, pedagogy, and strategies for community college students’ academic success. She teaches integrated reading and writing corequisite first-year composition courses, composition, and literature and medicine courses
